Salary: $35-$40 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team for residential and commercial projects. You will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork and falsework used to support concrete structures such as foundations, columns, walls, and slabs.

Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and work from plans, drawings, and specifications.
* Construct and install formwork and falsework to support reinforced concrete during curing.
* Measure, cut, and assemble timber, plywood, and prefabricated materials to build form structures.
* Use hand and power tools to erect formwork frameworks in compliance with building codes and safety standards.
* Install formwork systems such as traditional timber formwork, modular systems, and engineered formwork.
* Strip and dismantle formwork after concrete has set.
* Ensure formwork is level, aligned, and correctly braced.
* Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines on site.

Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a formwork carpenter or in a similar role
* Ability to read technical drawings and follow specifications.
* Experience in concrete formwork for slabs, columns, beams, and staircases is a big advantage
* Proficient with power tools, carpentry hand tools, and construction methods.
* Familiar with timber and engineered formwork systems.
* Understanding of New Zealand Building Code and construction site safety standards.

Qualifications
* At least 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualification
* Full driver’s licence (advantageous).

Working Hours
* Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
* Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* Guaranteed Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
* Maximum hours: 50 hours per week
